Classic Manhattan Cocktail
The Classic Manhattan Cocktail is a drink that never gets old. Manhattan recipe is super classy with no added thrills and definitely no paper umbrellas.
How to make a Classic Manhattan?
With only 2 main ingredients, a classic Manhattan is one of the easiest cocktails to make. While rye whiskey is the most common many types are acceptable. My favorite happens to be Jameson Irish whiskey so that is what is in this recipe but feel free to use any that you wish.
Ingredients
- Sweet Vermouth
- Whiskey – Many types may be used
- Angostura Bitters
- Luxardo Cherry
- Orange Peel
Recipe Steps
With good quality ice already in your shaker cup, add in the vermouth, whiskey, and bitters. The ice type will make a difference, so be sure to see the different cocktail ice types explained in our blog post.
Shake the mixture until well mixed and cold. Strain the whiskey/vermouth mixture into an ice-filled whiskey glass. We love using a single ice sphere that is crystal clear, but it is not necessary.
Add in a Luxardo cherry and then garnish with an orange peel twist.
